Purpose
Our Sports Program is designed to produce Christian character in our youth through competitive sports. We strive to be a
light in the world, both in and out of the competitive arena. We believe that through sports, a child can learn to apply
God s Word to real life situations, as well as develop discipline, teamwork, and physical fitness.
Try-Outs
These will be held on Saturday, Sept. 29th, at Youngsville Elementary located at 125 Youngsville Boulevard in Youngsville, NC.
Try-outs are as follows:
Boys age 11 13 8:00 AM 9:30 AM
Boys age 14 18 9:00 AM 10:30 AM
Girls age 11 13 10:00 AM 11:30 AM
Girls age 14 18 11:00 AM 12:30 PM
Membership
Lighthouse Sports is a program of Lighthouse Christian Homeschool Assoc., Inc. (LCHAI). You do not need to be a member of
LCHAI to participate in Lighthouse Sports. Students must be homeschooled to participate.
Age
Middle School: Must be at least 11 years old, but not older than 13 on Sept. 1, 2007.
Junior Varsity: Must be no older then 16 on Sept. 1, 2007.
Varsity: Must be no older than 18 on Sept. 1, 2007, and still in high school.
Games and Tournament
TBA. The season begins in October and runs through the NCHEAC Tournament at the end of February.
Registration
All players should come to try-outs with a completed registration form (Notarized) and a $50 deposit.
The $50 will only be returned if you are not offered a spot on a team. The deposit will be applied
towards your Participation Fee.
Cost
The costs include all practices and regular season games. It does not include the cost for tournaments or travel expenses.
PARTICIPATION FEE(estimate)
MS -- $225 / SEASON
JV AND VARSITY - $300 / SEASON
The exact cost will be determined after the start of the season based on the number of participants in the basketball program.
Each additional family member in the basketball program receives a $50 discount. Participation fees need to be paid prior to the
first scheduled game of the season.
Sponsorship forms are available, which players may use to solicit sponsors from area businesses and use to offset the cost of
participation.
Fundraising
There may be an additional fund raising requirement per family. This will be determined after the beginning of the season based
on the number of participants in the basketball program.
Parent's Meeting
There will be a mandatory Parents Meeting at the beginning of October to prepare for the upcoming season.
Uniforms
Game uniforms will be provided before the first game. The uniforms must be returned at the end of the season.
Players are responsible for replacement cost of lost or damaged uniforms.
